Jamshedpur, Feb 14: The shortage of court fee tickets in Jamshedpur has become a matter of concern in the city. Kulwinder Singh, National President of Qaumi Sikh Morcha and a practising advocate, has urged the district administration to address the ongoing shortage of government court fee tickets.
The shortage, which has persisted for several days, has severely impacted legal proceedings and administrative work in the region.
Legal work comes to a halt
According to Singh, court fee tickets of only one rupee were available in the SDO Court and Judicial Court premises, but now even these are out of stock. This shortage has brought legal work to a standstill, as applications cannot be filed in government offices, and tasks such as submitting applications, filing ‘Vakalatnamas’ (power of attorney), and obtaining certified copies in judicial courts have been severely impacted.

The lack of court fee tickets has left lawyers and litigants facing significant challenges, forcing them to repeatedly visit the courts without being able to complete their legal obligations. The disruption has caused inconvenience to numerous parties who are struggling to navigate the judicial system due to the unavailability of the necessary court fee tickets.
Call for administrative intervention
Kulwinder Singh has appealed to the district administration to ensure the availability of court fee tickets in denominations of one, two, five, ten, and twenty rupees.
He emphasized that the unavailability of these tickets is not only hindering the work of legal professionals but also delaying governmental procedures, which should be completed within the stipulated time frame.
He added that ensuring the availability of these tickets would ease the situation for both lawyers and the general public, thereby enabling the smooth functioning of judicial and administrative processes.
The legal community and affected parties are now waiting for the administration to take prompt action to resolve this issue.
