Ranchi, Feb 28: The ruling party criticized the government over the state of 108 ambulance services in the Jharkhand assembly today.

MLA Amit Kumar Yadav emphasized the need for a medical college in every district. In response, Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari stated that a medical college is already under construction in Koderma, with 38% of the work completed.

In the first phase, medical colleges will be established in Dhanbad, Deoghar, Khunti, Giridih, Jamtara, and Jamshedpur. Additionally, five super-speciality hospitals will be set up, and the number of ambulances will be increased. Patients will be transported to the facilities where they are referred.

MLA Stephen Marandi suggested that the 108-ambulance service should be improved, while Minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu proposed amendments to its regulations. Health Minister Irfan Ansari added that a new agency has been assigned responsibility for the 108-ambulance service.

Employment Initiatives: Government Adopts Liberal Approach

Labour Minister Sanjay Prasad Singh Yadav stated that the government is taking a liberal approach toward employment by organizing job fairs. He was responding to MLA Nagendra Mahto’s question about the number of people employed in Jharkhand.

In his response, the Labour Minister mentioned that officials have visited 18 districts so far, and efforts are being made to promote employment opportunities in cottage and medium industries.

Pradeep Yadav Questions the System

MLA Pradeep Yadav expressed dissatisfaction over not receiving responses to his queries. Addressing the Speaker, he urged for improvements in the system. The Speaker assured that all departmental officers have been instructed to provide timely responses. However, Yadav insisted that if replies are still delayed despite these instructions, action should be taken against the respective department secretaries.

Raj Sinha Raises Drinking Water Supply Issue

MLA Raj Sinha raised concerns over the lack of discussion on the Rs 917.69 crore drinking water supply scheme in Dhanbad. He pointed out that despite requesting information, no answers had been provided. The minister in charge responded that 12 different water supply schemes were currently underway in Dhanbad, and that state plan projects had been completed. However, the specific scheme mentioned by Sinha falls under the Urban Development Department, which would provide the required response.

Dissatisfied, Raj Sinha reiterated his concern, to which the minister replied that he was trying to clarify the matter.
