Ranchi, March 6: A delegation from the State Committee of the All India Students Association (AISA), Jharkhand, met Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar at Raj Bhawan today, demanding urgent reforms in education and employment.

Key demands included the immediate implementation of a domicile and Employment Policy, strict laws against question paper leaks, the conduction of student union elections across all universities, and free education for Divyang (disabled) students. The memorandum further highlighted issues such as the recognition of the Olchiki script, the appointment of Santhali teachers, the establishment of a sports academy, and the prevention of rising higher education fees. It also urged the government to improve facilities for visually impaired students, operationalize long-pending girls’ hostels, and expedite PhD enrollments in Nilamber-Pitamber University. Additional demands included granting university recognition to Ramgarh College, implementing the GSCASH system to ensure female student safety, and restoring autonomy to Project Kanya Uchcha Vidyalaya in Deoghar district.

The delegation emphasized that these issues are critical for Jharkhand’s students and youth, urging the Governor to take immediate action.
