Ranchi, May 6: The Jharkhand government has informed the High Court that it will withdraw its earlier order removing Dr. Rajkumar from the post of Director of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).

Following this submission, the High Court disposed of Dr. Rajkumar’s petition challenging his removal.

On the night of April 17, the state government had issued an order relieving Dr. Rajkumar of his duties as RIMS Director. In response, Dr. Rajkumar moved the Jharkhand High Court, contending that the order violated the principles of natural justice.

The matter was first heard on April 29, when the court put a stay on the removal order and sought a response from the state government. The court had fixed May 6 as the next date of hearing.

The petition was heard by the bench of Justice Deepak Roshan. During the proceedings, the government stated on record that it had decided to withdraw the removal order. In light of this, the court declared the petition as disposed.

With the withdrawal of the order, Dr. Rajkumar will continue in his position as Director of RIMS.
