The policy includes up to three years of age relaxation for eligible candidates and ensures the quota functions within existing social categories—General, SC, ST, and OBC—based on the candidate’s background.

Khanna added that while states like Haryana and Odisha have implemented a 10 per cent quota for Agniveers, Uttar Pradesh has taken a step further by offering 20 per cent, with the first batch of eligible recruits expected in 2026.
