Delhi Police arrest man for giving death threat to CM Rekha Gupta

New Delhi, June 7: A 25-year-old man, identified as Shlok Tripathi, was arrested on Saturday for allegedly issuing a death threat to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, officials said.

The accused had reportedly placed a threatening call to the emergency helpline number 112 in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, late Thursday night.

Acting swiftly, Ghaziabad police traced the call to Panchwati Colony, but the suspect initially managed to evade arrest, said Assistant Commissioner of Police Ritesh Tripathi.

Subsequently, Ghaziabad authorities alerted Delhi Police, who later apprehended the accused. Tripathi is now being questioned by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police at their northwest Delhi office.

According to police sources, the suspect is a known fraudster who frequently operates under multiple identities, raising concerns about his background and motives.
