Ramgarh, June 12: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Ramgarh district unit marked the completion of 11 years of the Modi government’s tenure with a vibrant series of events, including a press conference, a photo exhibition at Chamber Bhawan, and a professional meet at the Lions Club.
The events saw the presence of several prominent figures, including Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, MLA Roshan Lal Chaudhary, BJP State secretary Sunita Singh, and District In-charge Shashi Bhushan Bhagat. The programme was presided over by District President Praveen Mehta and anchored by District General Secretary Raju Chaturvedi.
Honouring Legacy and Lighting the Path Forward
The ceremony began with floral tributes to Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, followed by a ceremonial lamp lighting by the chief guest and dignitaries. Guests were welcomed with traditional angavastras and floral bouquets. District President Praveen Mehta opened proceedings with a welcome address, outlining upcoming initiatives across the Mandal and Panchayat levels.
Empowered Women, Developed Nation: Sanjay Seth’s Address
Addressing the gathering, Sanjay Seth described the past 11 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a transformative era of service, good governance, and welfare for the poor. “Today’s India neither fears, nor bows, nor spreads its hands,” he declared, emphasising the government’s commitment to national pride and progress.
He highlighted landmark progress in women’s empowerment, noting that 1606 women have been inducted as soldiers, and 17 have made history by graduating from the National Defence Academy (NDA). Initiatives like Lakhpati Didi, Drone Didi, and Laxmi Ladli Yojana were cited as examples of how the government is creating opportunities for women at the grassroots level.
A Leap in Infrastructure and Connectivity
Seth also outlined massive infrastructure achievements, including India’s tallest railway bridge in Jammu & Kashmir, the launch of 136 Vande Bharat trains, and the development of over 1300 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
“India now leads the world in internet usage and is making unprecedented progress in road, air, and water connectivity,” he said, calling this era “a golden chapter in India’s journey towards self-reliance.”
Voices from the Party: Sharp Criticism of Opposition
MLA Roshan Lal Chaudhary praised the Modi government’s legacy, while criticising the Hemant Soren-led state government for inadequate electricity infrastructure. He claimed that “only central government schemes are functional in the state.”
BJP State Secretary Sunita Singh contrasted the Modi government’s achievements with past Congress regimes. “While Congress is remembered for appeasement, corruption, and dynastic politics, the Modi era is one of empowerment—for women, farmers, the poor, and the youth,” she said.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by District Vice President and programme co-convener Rajendra Kushwaha.
