Jamshedpur, June 13: In a major initiative aimed at extending government welfare schemes to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) and tribal-dominated villages, the “Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan” was officially launched in East Singhbhum on Friday.

The campaign, which will run from 15 to 30 June, was inaugurated with a ceremonial event at the district collectorate. Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs Brijnandan Prasad, Deputy Commissioner Karan Satyarthi, and Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey jointly flagged off a specially designed awareness vehicle to mark the launch.

The dignitaries also participated in a signature campaign to encourage public involvement in the initiative.

As part of the campaign, over 275 village-level camps will be organised to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive on-the-spot access to vital government schemes, including Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, PM Kisan, Kisan Credit Card, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and PM Vishwakarma Yojana, among others.

Calling the campaign a “meaningful step” towards integrating marginalised tribal populations into the mainstream, MP Mahato praised the outreach drive for its inclusive approach. Joint Secretary Prasad lauded the initiative as aligning with the central government’s priorities for tribal welfare.

Deputy Commissioner Satyarthi emphasised that the programme would promote inclusion through targeted service delivery at the grassroots level.

ITDA Project Director Deepankar Choudhary noted that the awareness vehicle would play a critical role in reaching remote communities and helping them access essential benefits directly.
