Ranchi, June 15: The Junior Resident Association (JDA) of RIMS Ranchi, the Federation of All India Medical Associations (FAIMA), and the Junior Doctors Network (JDN) Jharkhand chapter have expressed profound sorrow over the deaths of four MBBS students from BJ Medical College and four relatives of doctors in the tragic Air India Flight 171 crash in Ahmedabad on 12 June.

The Boeing 787‑8 Dreamliner, carrying 242 people, crashed shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad airport into the BJ Medical College hostel during lunchtime, killing 241 people on board and 38 on the ground — a total of 279 confirmed fatalities.

Today, the JDA held a condolence meeting led by President Dr Ankit Kumar, expressing deep grief at the loss of young, promising medical professionals. “We extend our heartfelt condolences for the tragic crash in which MBBS students, doctors and faculty members lost their lives — this heartbreak has shaken the entire medical fraternity,” said Dr Ankit.

Similarly, JDN Jharkhand’s leadership — including president Dr Viksh Kumar, chairman Dr Sushil Kumar, and secretary Dr Raghvendra Kumar — voiced their shock and condolences following their crisis meeting.
