A well-marked low-pressure area persists over northeast Jharkhand and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal, supported by an upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 Km.

This system is expected to move slowly northwestward over the next 24 hours.

An east-west trough also extends from South Punjab to South Assam, crossing through this low-pressure system, enhancing rainfall activity across the region.

Meanwhile, the incessant rains which lashed several parts of Jharkhand including Jamshedpur stopped today.
