Dhanbad, June 21: Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro, in collaboration with the Bokaro District Yogasana Sports Association (BDYSA), celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga on its school premises.
The celebration featured a yoga demonstration by young students, showcasing the physical and spiritual depth of this ancient Indian discipline. The entire school community—including students, teachers, and staff—actively participated in a series of yoga sessions and wellness activities aimed at promoting physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Yoga Postures, Breathing Techniques, and More
Participants performed a wide range of yoga asanas, including Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Padahastasana, Ardha Chakrasana, Trikonasana, Bhadrasana, Vajrasana, Shashankasana, Mandukasana, Vakrasana, Makarasana, Bhujangasana, and Setu Bandhasana.

Breathing techniques like Kapalbhati and Anulom-Vilom were also practiced to help students achieve mental clarity and inner calm.
Complementing the physical exercises, various activities such as poster-making, speech presentations, and quizzes were organized to help students understand and appreciate the holistic benefits of yoga.

Launch of Yoga Magazine and Principal’s Message
On this special occasion, the school also released a yoga-themed magazine titled Prithvi Yog, highlighting the importance of yoga in daily life and sharing insights from students and faculty.

Dr. A.S. Gangwar, Principal of DPS Bokaro and President of BDYSA, praised the enthusiastic involvement of the school community. “Yoga, which embodies physical well-being, inner peace, and holistic living, must be passed on to the next generation to nurture healthy and balanced citizens,” he said.
He further added, “It fills me with pride to see our young students embracing this timeless practice. They will serve as torchbearers, spreading the message of yoga for health and sustainability across the world.”
