Jamshedpur, Aug 5: Jharkhand will continue to experience thunderstorms and rain in the next few days.

IMD’s Ranchi centre issued a forecast of thunder, lightning, gusty winds, and spells of heavy rain across various regions of the state.

Forecast

August 4: Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30–40 Kmph) are likely at isolated places. Districts including Garhwa, Chatra, Koderma, Ramgarh, Bokaro, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Sahebganj, Pakur, Godda, Palamu, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, Khunti, Saraikela-Kharsawan, Simdega, Dumka, Deoghar, Jamtara, and Giridih may witness these weather fluctuations.

August 5: Expect similar thunderstorm activity with gusty winds at isolated locations across the state.

August 6: The southern and north-eastern districts are likely to be soaked under heavy rainfall, while thunderstorms may take a backseat for a brief spell.

August 7: Thunderstorms and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) return to isolated areas, possibly impacting outdoor movement. Heavy rain may continue over the south-eastern, north-eastern, and adjoining central districts.

August 8: The monsoon momentum sustains its pace with both heavy rainfall and thunderstorms likely over multiple pockets of the state.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level has currently positioned itself through Amritsar, Dehradun, Chara, and Jalpaiguri, influencing the rainfall pattern and convective weather across eastern India, including Jharkhand.

According to rain statistics, Jharkhand was currently experiencing surplus rainfall of 47 per cent.

Except for Pakur which was facing rain deficit of 13% all the other 23 districts figured in the rain surplus list.
