Ranchi, August 15: Delhi Public School, Ranchi, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with a vibrant display of patriotism, transforming the campus into a sea of tricolour.
Flag Hoisting and March-Past
The day began with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag by Principal Dr Jaya Chauhan, followed by the National Anthem. Students and NCC cadets presented a disciplined march-past, symbolising unity and respect.

Cultural Tributes to the Nation
Highlights included an address by Head Boy Ishan Sinha on the history of Independence and the role of youth in nation-building, a skit by Nursery students themed “Freedom is About Playing Our Responsibilities”, and a Class III performance on the Kargil War. Dance presentations on ‘Naarishakti’ and ‘Naya Bharat’, along with patriotic songs by students and teachers, stirred deep emotions among the audience.

Principal’s Message
Dr Chauhan commended students’ efforts, thanked parents for their support, and urged all to uphold honesty, integrity, and discipline in honour of the freedom fighters’ sacrifices.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by Head Girl Eshika Sahu, leaving the audience inspired and proud.
