Jamshedpur, August 27: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for Jharkhand, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds at several places in the state over the next four days.
August 27: Thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds (30–40 kmph) are likely at isolated places, especially over the southern and central parts of Jharkhand.
August 28: Similar weather conditions are expected across many areas of the state.

August 29: Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over south-eastern and north-eastern districts, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds.
August 30: North-eastern Jharkhand may receive heavy showers, while thunderstorms with gusty winds remain likely across the state.
August 31: Heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places.
According to IMD, a low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal, off the Odisha coast, persisted on Wednesday morning.
The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level and is likely to intensify in the next two days while moving west-northwestwards.

The monsoon trough currently extends from Ganganagar in Rajasthan to the northwest Bay of Bengal, passing through Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and embedded cyclonic circulations, further enhancing the possibility of widespread rain and thunderstorms across Jharkhand.
