Jamshedpur, Sept 5: Sona Devi University celebrated Teachers’ Day at the Vivekananda Auditorium on Friday.

The program commenced with floral tributes to renowned philosopher and educationist Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

Speaking on the occasion, Chancellor Prabhakar Singh highlighted the invaluable role of teachers in nation-building.

He said, “The dignity of Sona Devi University rests upon its faculty. No school, college, or university can progress without honoring its teachers. It is the teachers who shoulder the responsibility of shaping future generations.”

He further added that while artificial intelligence is advancing rapidly, only teachers can keep students rooted in values and culture.

Vice-Chancellor J.P. Mishra motivated teachers and students alike, stating that in today’s dynamic society, teachers too must evolve with time. “A teacher must be a role model, adapting to circumstances and inspiring students through knowledge and character. Only then will society respect them,” he remarked.

Registrar Prof. Gulab Singh Azad, in his address, emphasized that the true spirit of Teachers’ Day lies in imbibing the philosophy and teachings of great personalities like Dr. Radhakrishnan.

He encouraged students to use education for social welfare, nurture creativity, and develop independent thinking.
