Jamshedpur, Sept 11: Dayanand Public School, Jamshedpur, has strengthened its reputation as a hub of innovation by establishing an Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL), offering students hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technologies under the Atal Innovation Mission of the Government of India.

Equipped with 3D printers, robotics kits, sensors, and microcontrollers, the ATL provides a platform where students can design, build, and test prototypes, moving beyond classroom learning to solve real-world problems.

Projects developed so far include automatic irrigation systems, smart dustbins, solar-powered gadgets, and health monitoring devices — reflecting both creativity and social responsibility.

The initiative has already borne fruit, with students consistently securing prizes at inter-school and regional innovation competitions. Alongside technical skills, the programme fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and confidence among young learners.

“The ATAL Tinkering Lab has become the heartbeat of innovation at our school. It motivates students to dream big, think differently, and work on solutions that can bring about real change,” said Principal Swarna Mishra.

Parents, too, have welcomed the initiative, noting that their children are developing a passion for science and technology at an early age.

With its emphasis on coding, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), and robotics, the lab is preparing students for future careers in research, engineering, and entrepreneurship.
