New Delhi, Dec 16: The Delhi Police on Saturday arrested Mahesh Kumawat, the sixth accused in the case of the Parliament security breach, following confirmation from officials that he was a member of the entire plan. The questioning lasted for hours before the arrest was made.
Mahesh, who lives in Rajasthan’s Nagaur area, was also in Delhi on December 13 when two people jumped from the visitors’ gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber, setting off smoke canisters.
Following the incident, Lalit Jha, the mastermind, fled from Delhi to Mahesh’s hideout in Rajasthan. Along with Lalit, Mahesh destroyed the cell phones of the four accused who had been first detained, according to police sources.
In addition, Mahesh maintained continual communication with Neelam Devi, who was detained for demonstrating outside the Parliament while members of their group were entering the Lok Sabha.

On Thursday, Lalit and Mahesh bot surrendered and turned themselves in simultaneously at the police station in the New Delhi region. On Friday, Lalit’s arrest was recorded. Although Kailash, Mahesh’s cousin, was also questioned by the police, he has not yet been taken into custody.
On December 13, Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D entered the Lok Sabha chamber, deploying smoke canisters, while Neelam Devi and Anmol Shinde staged protests outside. These four people have been charged with terrorism for the serious security breach.
Following the interrogation, the police stated that the accused had the intention to instigate anarchy in the country to force the government to fulfill their demands. Authorities are investigating the true motive behind the attack and examining the individual’s connections with other hostile nations and terrorist groups.
