Jamshedpur, Dec 16: In a major breakthrough, the police arrested four criminals with as many pistols from a place under Seraikela Thana area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Saturday.
Those who are in police net are notorious criminal, Sagar Lohar and his associates Bhhatta Lohar, Bablu Das and Tarini Das.
While the police recovered three sophisticated pistols of 7.62 mm calibre from the possession of Sagar Lohar, Bhhatta Lohar and Bablu Das respectively, a countrymade pistol was recovered from Tarini Das.
Apart from these firearms, the police recovered huge number of ammunition from those arrested.

Raid conducted based on tip-off
Revealing about the breakthrough, Seraikela-Kharsawan SP, Vimal Kumar said that the criminals gang led by Sagar Lohar was hatching a plan to commit some grievous crime somewhere in Seraikela this morning, when the police got a tip off about the gang.
“Soon after getting the info about the armed gang, a team was set up comprising Seraikela, Rajnagar, Gamharia and RIT Thanas OCs and an action-oriented plan was made as to how could the criminals be nabbed. Subsequently, the police team raided the place after surrounding the area concerned. Soon the four criminals were in police net, ” said the SP while talking to the newsmen at a press conference in Seraikela this afternoon.
Sagar Lohar an accused in 27 cases
The SP, Vimal Kumar said Sagar Lohar is accused in as many as 27 criminal cases registered against him with the police stations in Seraikela-Kharsawan and also East Singhbhum district. Bhhatta Lohar is also a notorious criminal and he is accused in seven cases registered with the police stations across the Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
The senior police officer informed that all the four were forwarded to the Seraikela divisional jail after they were produced before a judicial magistrate.
