Ranchi, Dec. 16: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said that the state government will no longer leave children dependent on banks for financial assistance to pursue higher education.

“The cabinet nodded to give the benefits of Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana to all the family’s daughters. Now, daughters will not leave their studies. The government will also help them to pursue higher education. Students can pursue higher education through the Guruji Student Credit Card Scheme. The government will provide them financial assistance up to Rs 15 lakh,” he pointed out.

Soren was speaking at the district level “Aapki Yojana, Aapki Sarkar, Aapke Dwar” programme organized at the High School ground of Roladih Panchayat, Manjhari, located in Manjhari block of West Singhbhum district.

On the occasion, the chief minister laid the foundation stone of 137 schemes worth Rs 422 crore 11 lakh and inaugurated 94 projects worth Rs 85 crore 64 lakh.

 Government will run from villages

The chief minister said we want to go from village to village.

“Earlier, the plans and voice of the state government did not reach the villages. But now the government’s plan and voice are reaching every village. Our government will run from the villages. Now, by organizing village-to-village camps, the benefits of public welfare schemes are being given to farmers, youth, students and other needy people,” he added.

Soren said Jharkhand will become a young state after a few years. “By now, this state should have become strong. If work had been done better for the people of the state in the past, then today, this state would have been known as a prosperous state,” he maintained.

15,000 km rural roads

The chief minister said that a decision has been taken to construct 15 thousand kilometers of rural roads to ensure villages’ easy connection with the city,

“Our government is starting Mukhyamantri Gram Gaadi Yojana for systematic and free transportation of people to the city. He added that this transport service will be free of cost to Jharkhand andolankaris, women, students and disabled people,” he added.
