Dr Kumar Saurabh, Junior Resident, Department of Orthopaedics, SNMMCH Dhanbad, has been elected as an Executive Member of the national body.

This marks the first time that three young doctors from Jharkhand have simultaneously secured prominent positions in FAIMA’s leadership.

Recognition for Contributions

FAIMA sources revealed that Dr. Jaideep’s re-election was based on his work in the Mental Health Redressal Helpline (MHRH) and the Review Medical System (RMS), initiatives aimed at improving the quality of medical education across India. His dedication and leadership have drawn appreciation from FAIMA’s top leadership, including National Chief Patron Dr. Rohan Krishnan, National Chairman Dr. Manish Jangra, and National Patron Dr. Sandeep Dagar.

Addressing Medical Education Challenges

Highlighting gaps in medical education, FAIMA officials pointed out that while new colleges are opening across the country, many lack adequate faculty, infrastructure, and basic facilities. Through the FAIMA-RMS survey, over 1,700 students—including more than 150 from Jharkhand—have already shared feedback. Findings from this survey will be submitted to the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Union Health Ministry to push for reforms in medical education.

Local Leadership and Support

Dr. Jaideep, a former President of the Junior Doctors Association (JDA) RIMS and current Vice-President of the IMA Junior Doctors Network (JDN) Jharkhand, has been at the forefront of young doctors’ issues.
