Jamshedpur, October 26: Vijaya Gardens Chitransh Parivaar (VGCP), Baridih, will celebrate Sri Chitragupta Puja with traditional rituals and cultural programmes at Community Hall No. 5 in Vijaya Gardens on November 11.
The celebration will bring together members of the Chitransh community to promote religious faith, preserve cultural heritage and strengthen brotherhood and social harmony.
The programme will include the traditional worship of Lord Chitragupta, distribution of bhog, release of the organisation’s annual souvenir, cultural performances by members of the Vijaya Gardens community and a community dinner.
Meritorious students and talented individuals who have excelled in education and other fields will also be felicitated for their achievements.
The initiative aims to encourage young people to pursue excellence through dedication, perseverance and hard work while recognising talent and achievement within the community.
VGCP members call for collective participation
The decision to organise the annual celebration was taken unanimously at a meeting chaired by VGCP president Rajeeva Ranjan.
Members emphasised that the event would strengthen community ties and provide an opportunity for families to come together to celebrate their shared cultural traditions.
H. P. Srivastava, vice-president of the Sri Chitragupta Puja Committee, appealed to members to extend wholehearted physical and financial support to ensure the successful organisation of the event. He stressed the importance of collective participation in making the celebration memorable.
Deepak Sharan, general secretary of VGCP, also urged members to participate enthusiastically in the festivities and contribute to strengthening social harmony.
Preparations are underway to combine religious devotion, cultural activities and community participation in the annual celebration.
Proposal to observe October 27 as VGCP Diwas
Meanwhile, Nath Narayan Vasudeva, an executive committee member, has proposed observing October 27 every year as VGCP Diwas to commemorate the organisation’s formation and preserve its history for future generations.
Vasudeva recalled that a meeting of Kayastha community residents was held at Vijaya Gardens on October 27, 2018. During the meeting, members decided to organise the worship of Lord Chitragupta in the colony every year and named their collective platform Vijaya Gardens Chitransh Parivaar.
The proposed annual observance is intended to commemorate that founding decision and reinforce the spirit of unity that brought the community together.
With religious rituals, cultural performances, recognition of achievers and a community feast planned, the November 11 celebration is expected to provide an opportunity for members of the Chitransh Parivaar to renew community bonds and pass on their cultural traditions to the younger generation.
