Jamshedpur, Oct 9: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall in isolated parts of Jharkhand on Thursday, October 9, followed by a gradual improvement in weather conditions over the next few days.

According to the latest weather bulletin, the state is likely to experience a partly cloudy sky with predominantly dry weather between October 10 and 11, while clear skies and dry conditions are expected to prevail from October 12 onwards.

The IMD attributed the current rainfall activity to the influence of a Western Disturbance, which has developed as an induced low-pressure area over east Haryana and its adjoining regions, extending up to 4.5 Km above mean sea level.

A trough aloft associated with this system runs roughly along longitude 77°E north of latitude 28°N at 5.8 Km above mean sea level.

This weather system is expected to weaken gradually, paving the way for stable atmospheric conditions over eastern India, including Jharkhand.

Additionally, a cyclonic circulation persists over south Bangladesh and its neighbourhood, extending up to 0.9 Km above mean sea level.

Though this system has limited influence on Jharkhand’s weather, it may bring brief and localized rain over parts of the Santhal Pargana and adjoining districts.

Meteorologists said that monsoon activity remained weak over the state, and with the southwest monsoon nearing its withdrawal phase, significant rainfall is unlikely in the coming days.

The gradual reduction in humidity and clearer skies will mark the onset of a post-monsoon transition.

Farmers are advised to utilize the upcoming dry spell for field preparation and harvesting activities.

Meanwhile, residents can look forward to pleasant weather with slightly cooler mornings and evenings as Jharkhand move towards another round of festive season.
