PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Oct 10: Jharkhand experienced light rainfall at isolated places over the past 24 hours, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms.

According to the Meteorological Centre, Ranchi, monsoon activity remained weak across the state, though some regions received brief spells of rain.

The highest rainfall of 21.8 mm was recorded at Panchet DVC in Dhanbad, while Godda registered the highest maximum temperature of 34.8°C.

The Met department’s forecast indicates a gradual improvement in weather conditions over the next few days.

On October 10, light to moderate rain is likely to occur at isolated places over the state.

However, from October 11 to 13, the weather is expected to turn dry with partly cloudy to mainly clear skies dominating most parts of the state.

In terms of synoptic features, the Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over northwest Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas persists and is now seen between 1.5 km and 4.5 km above mean sea level.

Moreover, another upper air cyclonic circulation over south Bangladesh and adjoining regions, extending up to 5.8 Km above mean sea level, continues to influence weather conditions in eastern India.

With the gradual weakening of these systems, the monsoon activity is expected to further reduce, leading to dry and clear weather across most parts of Jharkhand from Saturday onwards.
