Jharkhand tops medal tally at national karate championship

Dhanbad, Oct 13: Jharkhand claimed the overall championship title at the 10th All India Bushikan Cup Karate Championship, which concluded on Sunday night at the Nehru Sports Complex in Koyla Nagar.

The host state secured the highest number of medals across all categories, pushing West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh to second and third place, respectively.

Ranjit Keshri, Chief Instructor of the championship and President of the International Shotokan Karate Kyokai, said that Kumite and Kata events for the under-13 boys and girls were held on the final day.

Sunil Kumar, Deputy Director of Doon Public School, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and presented medals to the winners. Among the dignitaries present were Dr. Neha Das (Medical Officer, ECHS), S.M. Hashmi (President, Dhanbad District Olympic Association), Pawan Barnwal (Treasurer), Priyarajan Kumar (Joint Secretary), Rahul Kashyap (Chairman, Koyalanchal Public School), Divyansh Singh, Anil Tulsiyan, and Vikas Keshari.
