Jamshedpur, Oct 16: In a significant administrative development, the Jharkhand government has appointed Nelson Eyon Bage as the new Divisional Commissioner of Kolhan.
This appointment is part of a broader reshuffle aimed at enhancing governance and accelerating development in the region.
Bage will replace Hari Kumar Keshari.

Professional Background
Nelson Eyon Bage, an officer of the 2011 batch of the Jharkhand cadre, brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
Prior to this appointment, he served as the Project Director of the Jharkhand Tribal Development Society (JTDS) and Managing Director of the Scheduled Tribes Cooperative Development Corporation.
His tenure in these positions was marked by a focus on tribal welfare and socio-economic development.
Bage holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Honours) and has been recognized for his administrative acumen and commitment to public service.

Role and Responsibilities
As the Divisional Commissioner of Kolhan, Bage will oversee the administration of three key districts: East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Seraikela-Kharsawan.
These districts are integral to the state’s development agenda, encompassing urban centers like Jamshedpur and rural areas with significant tribal populations.
The Kolhan division, with its headquarters in Chaibasa, is pivotal in implementing state policies and ensuring effective governance at the grassroots level.
