Jamshedpur, Oct 22: Jharkhand is expected to witness mostly dry weather over the next couple of days, with gradual changes likely as the week progresses, according to the forecast of India Meteorological Department (IMD).

On October 22, the state experienced fog or mist during the morning hours, followed by mainly clear skies later in the day.

Similar conditions are expected to prevail on October 23, with morning fog or mist giving way to a partly cloudy sky later in the day.

Dry weather is most likely to continue across the state on both days.

A slight shift in weather patterns is anticipated from October 24, when partly cloudy skies are expected, accompanied by the possibility of light rain or thunderstorms at isolated places, especially in southern and adjoining central parts of Jharkhand.

However, most parts of the state are likely to remain dry.

By October 25, conditions are forecast to turn generally cloudy, with light to moderate rain or thunderstorms expected at a few places across Jharkhand.

Meteorological experts noted that no significant synoptic feature currently prevails over the state.

However, an upper air cyclonic circulation persists over the south Andaman Sea and its neighbourhood, extending up to about 5.8 Km above mean sea level.

This system could influence weather conditions over eastern India in the coming days.

Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed across Jharkhand during the past 24 hours, and maximum temperatures remained within the normal range for this time of the year.

The IMD has advised residents, particularly in the southern districts, to stay alert for localized rain or thunderstorms later in the week, while the rest of the state continues to experience mild mornings and clear, comfortable afternoons.
