Jamshedpur, Nov 14: Jharkhand is expected to experience a dip in temperature over the next three days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting cold wave conditions in isolated pockets of the western region on 14 November, and in western and adjoining central parts on 15 and 16 November.

According to the IMD, no significant synoptic system currently affects Jharkhand.

However, northwesterly to northerly winds are prevailing at lower tropospheric levels, contributing to a gradual decline in minimum temperatures across the state.

The weather remained dry, and near-cold wave conditions were already observed at a few places in the western region over the past 24 hours.

In terms of recorded temperatures, Chaibasa registered the highest maximum temperature at 30.4°C, while Khunti recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 8.1°C on Thursday, indicating a sharp drop in night temperatures as winter sets in properly over the state.

According to Met statistics, the minimum temperature plummeted to 7 degrees Celsius in Khunti today, while the capital, Ranchi, recorded a minimum temperature of 9.4 degrees Celsius.

Daltonganj today recorded a minimum temperature of 9.3 degrees Celsius while Jamshedpur recorded 12.6 degrees Celsius.

Residents in the affected regions are advised to take precautions against the cold, especially during early mornings and late nights.
