Dhanbad, Nov 27: In an important statement for Jharkhand news and public healthcare, Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari has urged private nursing homes across the state not to collect treatment charges if a patient dies during treatment.

Speaking to media persons after attending a private function in Govindpur block, the Jharkhand Health Minister expressed concern that some private hospitals hold bodies until families clear outstanding bills.

Minister calls for humanity from private nursing homes

“I request private nursing homes in the state to show humanity and not charge treatment fees if a patient dies. The government will take stern action if any nursing home withholds a body over unpaid treatment charges,” Dr. Ansari said.

Government hospitals facing shortages

The minister admitted that government hospitals in Jharkhand are facing several deficiencies. He added that the state government has already initiated steps to improve the healthcare system, and people will soon experience a visible improvement in health services.

New medical facilities planned

Dr. Ansari announced that one more medical college is planned for Dhanbad.
Additionally, 100-bed hospitals will be opened in Dhanbad, Giridih, Jamtara, and Khunti, expanding health infrastructure across the state.
