Ramgarh, Nov 27: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday visited Lukaiyatand (Nemra, Gola) to pay homage to Martyr Sobaran Soren on his 68th martyrdom day. He offered floral tributes by garlanding the statue of his grandfather at the memorial site.
Martyr Sobaran Soren is remembered as a fearless defender of tribal rights, who fought against oppression, exploitation and feudal forces, and laid down his life protecting the dignity and identity of Jharkhand’s indigenous communities.
‘Jharkhand is a land of brave sons’
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that every year people come together to remember brave fighters like Martyr Sobaran Soren, who fought for the rights of tribals, indigenous communities and the marginalised.
He said Jharkhand has produced many such heroes who defended jal-jungle-jameen and stood up to powerful exploitative forces.
Legacy of struggle and responsibility
Hemant Soren said Jharkhand is a state “soaked in the blood of martyrs.”
Statues and memorials across the region remind people of those who sacrificed their lives for identity and rights.
He added that the absence of the late Shibu Soren, the revered Dishom Guru, marks the end of an era, but the responsibility to carry forward the ideals of their ancestors is now greater.
Women’s empowerment and rural development
The CM highlighted various welfare schemes that are strengthening the rural economy, improving livelihoods and empowering women.
He said more women are now becoming self-reliant through government schemes, while farmers and labourers are being supported through sustained development initiatives.
Jobs and self-employment for youth
Marking the government’s completion of one year on 28 November 2025, Hemant Soren said over 10,000 youths will be given government jobs.
He emphasised that along with employment, large avenues for self-employment are being created.
“Our government works from the villages, not only from Ranchi headquarters,” he said, adding that schemes under Right to Service are reaching people’s doorsteps.
Crackdown on middlemen
The Chief Minister said middlemen and brokers have no place in the government system.
Officials are now directly reaching people, ensuring transparency and quicker resolution of issues.
Ramgarh MLA Mamta Devi, district officials and a large number of villagers attended the ceremony.
