Daltonganj, December 2: A troupe of artistes, which had performed in the third convocation ceremony of the Nilamber Pitamber University (NPU), was felicitated by the Vice Chancellor Dr Prof Dinesh Kumar Singh on Tuesday in the Administrative Block of the university.

The troupe had given an outstanding performance, especially a couple of singers who sang an old-time song from the famous Hindi film Shor ‘Ek peyar k naghma hai, moujon ki rawani hai’. The artistes had enthralled the audience in the ceremony.

Each of the participants of the cultural programme team who turned up today was given a certificate of appreciation and a vastram.

Later, the Vice Chancellor, Dr Prof Dinesh Kumar Singh, in his speech, asked the faculties to launch the Chancellor’s lecture series in the departments.

He further said retired teachers who are in the pink of health and desirous of remaining in touch and in tune with the academic activities may find an opportunity here in the university to share their well head of knowledge and experience with the neo generation of students.

Dr Singh said such an interactive session is available in some prestigious universities in the state of Punjab. Such an interactive session and interfacing session of retired teachers has no monetary gains except for a grand ovation for such academic luminaries.
