New Delhi, Dec 18: A special NIA court in Delhi on Thursday sent Yasir Ahmed Dar, the ninth accused in the Delhi blast case, to the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) till December 26.
Dar was produced before the special court at Patiala House amid tight security after his arrest in connection with the November 10 explosion in the national capital.
Following a closed-door hearing, Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandana, who is the designated Special NIA Judge, accepted the agency’s submissions and granted custodial remand.

The blast, which took place around 7 pm on November 10, claimed 15 lives and left more than two dozen people injured.
Investigators have established that the explosion occurred in a moving Hyundai i20 car driven by an alleged suicide bomber.
According to the NIA, forensic analysis has confirmed that the deceased driver of the vehicle-borne improvised explosive device was Umar Un Nabi, a resident of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Nabi was working as an assistant professor in the General Medicine Department at Al Falah University in Faridabad. The agency has also seized another vehicle linked to him, which is currently being examined for evidence.

So far, the NIA has recorded statements of 73 witnesses, including several victims of the blast. The probe is being carried out across multiple states in coordination with the Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, Uttar Pradesh Police and other agencies.
