Dhanbad, Dec 30: Rudransh Sharma of Jharkhand clinched a gold medal at the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) National Skating Championship, which concluded in Gwalior on Monday.
According to reports, Rudransh, a key member of the Jharkhand team, secured two medals during the four-day championship held from December 25 to 29.

In the Boys Under-14 Road Race One-Lap event, he won the gold, outperforming strong contenders from Rajasthan, Telangana, and Delhi. He also bagged a bronze medal in the 500-meter Ring Race event.

A Jharkhand State Skating Association official said this is the first time a skater from the state has won a gold medal at the SGFI national championship.
Rudransh, a Class VI student of GD Goenka Public School in Dhanbad, has been training in skating since 2015. The championship marked his first appearance at the national level, and his performance has been hailed as a promising start.
State skating experts noted that Rudransh has the potential to excel internationally if provided with proper opportunities, exposure, and high-quality training facilities.

Association President Vikash Singh, Secretary Sumit Sharma, Executive President Dr. Rajshri Bhushan and other members congratulated Rudransh. They said his achievement would inspire other skaters from the state to aim for excellence at the national level.
