Ranchi, January 11: Chief Minister Hemant Soren and MLA Kalpana Soren visited Cheshire Home today on the 82nd birth anniversary of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren and spent time with children with disabilities residing there.
Addressing a programme organised on the occasion, the Chief Minister said this was the first time the family was observing Guruji’s birth anniversary without him.
“Guruji Showed the Path to a Separate State”
Recalling Shibu Soren’s legacy, Hemant Soren said Guruji’s struggle, sacrifice, and dedication laid the foundation for the dream of a separate Jharkhand state. He said Shibu Soren was always committed to the upliftment of the weak, backward, and tribal communities, and that his ideals would continue to guide generations.

Time Spent With Children, Blankets Distributed
During the visit, the Chief Minister and MLA Kalpana Soren interacted warmly with the children, held heartfelt conversations, and spent time with them. Blankets and essential items were also distributed among the children on the occasion.
The Chief Minister said he shares a deep emotional bond with Cheshire Home and visits the institution regularly. Appreciating the care and arrangements, he said the dedication of the staff reflects true service.
“Seeing the talent and confidence of children with disabilities here, it feels their strength is second to none,” he said.

Assures All Possible Support
Hemant Soren assured Cheshire Home of all possible support from the state government and extended New Year wishes to everyone present. He said the government is continuously making meaningful efforts for the welfare of persons with disabilities.
MLA Kalpana Soren also interacted with the children, encouraged them, and appreciated the service activities carried out by the institution.
