Deoghar, January 11: The three-day 5th Jharkhand chapter conference of the Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI), JACON 2026, concluded in Deoghar on Sunday evening.

Deoghar MLA Suresh Paswan attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest and was felicitated with a memento by the organising committee.

Academic Sessions Dominate Final Day

Organising Secretary Dr Gauri Shankar said the final day was packed with academic discussions led by national faculty experts, including Dr Vinod Mittal, Dr Brajmohan, Dr Santosh Kumar, Dr Akash Panigrahi, Dr Vijay Patni, Dr Shaibal Guha, Dr Subhash Kumar, Dr Ranjit Khatwa, Dr Hari Mahapatra, among others.

The experts discussed nutrition for diabetes patients, new technologies, and recent advances in the diagnosis and management of obesity-related disorders.

AIIMS Deoghar Doctors Share Insights

Dr Rajesh Kumar, Head of the Department of Medicine at AIIMS Deoghar, interacted with patients suffering from Type 1 diabetes and shared guidance on maintaining long-term health.

Dr Ayesha Juhi of AIIMS Deoghar highlighted the importance of adequate sleep in controlling blood sugar levels.

Speakers from Jharkhand included Dr U.K. Ojha (retired professor, SNMMCH Dhanbad), Dr Arvind Arya (Ranchi), Dr Sudhir Kumar, Dr Ramkumar, Dr Gagan Gunjan, Dr Soumya Sengupta, and others.

National Office Bearers Address Conference

Earlier, on Saturday evening, RSSDI National Vice-President Dr N. K. Singh, Jharkhand Secretary Dr Ajay Patwari, and National President-Elect Dr Sanjay Agrawal addressed the conference.

Dignitaries from other states praised Organising Committee Chairman Dr. R. N. Prasad and his team for successfully conducting the three-day programme in Deoghar.

The valedictory ceremony was also attended by National IMA Vice-President Dr Dhanvantari Tiwari.

Next Conference in 2027

On the occasion, Dr Anil Kumar Birmani announced that the 6th RSSDI Jharkhand conference will be held in Jamshedpur in 2027.
