‘One India, One Vision’: CM Hemant Soren outlines Jharkhand’s first-ever Davos agenda

 Ranchi, January 18: As Jharkhand prepares to mark its first-ever participation at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday attended a high-level virtual review meeting chaired by Union Minister for Railways, Communications and Electronics & IT Ashwini Vaishnaw to assess India’s overall preparedness for the global summit.

The meeting reflected the spirit of “One India, One Vision”, focusing on coordination between the Centre and states ahead of the WEF, scheduled to be held from January 19 to 23, 2026.

CM Highlights Jharkhand’s Davos Roadmap

During the video conference, the Chief Minister briefed the Union Minister on Jharkhand’s preparations for its debut at Davos, coinciding with the state’s 25th anniversary of formation. Jharkhand will be among a select group of Indian states showcasing investment opportunities on the global stage.

The Chief Minister stated that Jharkhand’s presence at WEF 2026 would closely align with the Government of India’s vision and national priorities, while presenting the state as an emerging destination for sustainable investment.

Focus on Critical Minerals, EVs and Green Transition

Jharkhand plans to highlight opportunities across key sectors, including critical minerals and mining, electronics and electronic components manufacturing, electric vehicles and automobiles, renewable energy and energy transition, forest and bio-economy, superfoods and food processing, tourism, and textiles.

Officials said the state’s narrative at Davos will balance its historic role in India’s industrial and mineral economy with a forward-looking focus on green growth, value addition, and responsible development.

Centre–State Coordination Ahead of WEF 2026

The Union Minister reviewed logistics, coordination mechanisms, and sectoral presentations as part of India’s unified approach to the WEF. Jharkhand’s participation marks a significant step in expanding India’s sub-national engagement at global economic platforms.

With its debut at Davos, Jharkhand aims to position itself as a future-ready state, leveraging its natural resources, manufacturing potential, and sustainable development agenda to attract global partnerships.
