Daltonganj, March 18
: An adult langur died after suffering an electric shock in Daltonganj, despite efforts to save it for several hours.

According to sources, the animal came into contact with overhead electricity wires near the residence of former Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari, leaving it severely injured.

Injured Animal Attacked by Stray Dogs

After falling to the ground due to the shock, the langur was reportedly attacked and mauled by stray dogs, worsening its condition.

Residents later intervened and rescued the injured animal.

The langur was handed over to the Medininagar forest division, where forest personnel arranged food and medical care.

Despite these efforts, the animal, which had sustained multiple injuries along with severe electric shock, died after battling for over seven hours.

Officials later buried the carcass at an undisclosed location.
