Ramgarh, April 14: Police arrested two alleged members of the Rahul Dubey gang from Hesla village under Patratu police station on the night of April 13 and recovered illegal firearms, foiling a planned criminal act. The accused have also confessed to their involvement in the April 4 firing incident at the Osam (Awesome) Dairy Plant in Patratu.
Arrest and seizure
Acting on a tip-off received by Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar (IPS), a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by SDPO Patratu Gaurav Goswami (IPS) launched a coordinated anti-crime operation.
During checking at Type-2 Kali Mandir ground in Hesla, police intercepted two bike-borne suspects. They were identified as Karan Karmali (19) and Shivam Mishra alias Shivam Anand/Nandu (23).

A search led to the recovery of a loaded 7.65 mm country-made pistol with three live cartridges from Karmali. A bag on the motorcycle contained a loaded 9 mm country-made carbine with two live cartridges. The motorcycle (JH-02AB-5319) was also seized.

Confession and case details
During interrogation, both accused admitted to working for the Rahul Dubey gang and revealed that they were planning a major crime. They also confessed to their role in the firing at the dairy plant earlier this month.
A case has been registered at Patratu police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. Both accused have been sent to judicial custody.
The operation involved multiple officers, including inspectors, sub-inspectors, and personnel from Patratu police station, outposts, and the technical branch. The coordinated effort helped prevent a potential major crime in the area.
