Police detain three Ranchi residents during raid at Jamshedpur hotel

Jamshedpur, July 31: A late-evening police raid at a hotel in Golmuri on Thursday led to the detention of three men from Ranchi who had reportedly been staying there for nearly three months, triggering an investigation into their activities.

Acting on specific inputs, Golmuri police raided Skylon Hotel in the Kalimati area and searched Rooms 201 and 202, where the three occupants were staying.

The detained individuals have been identified as Linda, Sonu and Bittu, all residents of the Ratu police station area in Ranchi. They were subsequently taken to Golmuri police station for questioning.

Police sources said the unusually long duration of the trio’s stay at the hotel, coupled with certain aspects of their movements, had raised suspicion, prompting the operation.

During the raid, officers conducted a thorough search of the rooms and began verifying documents and other materials recovered from the premises.

Police Verify Records and Activities

Investigators are trying to ascertain the purpose of the three men’s visit to Jamshedpur, the reasons for their extended stay, and the nature of their activities during the period.

The hotel management has been directed to provide guest registers, identity documents, booking records and other relevant details for verification.

Police are also examining whether the trio has any links to criminal activities or any suspicious network.

No Arrest or FIR Confirmed Yet

Officials clarified that no incriminating evidence has been officially established so far, and the inquiry is still at a preliminary stage.

No formal statement has been issued by senior police officials, and neither an FIR nor any arrest has been officially confirmed.

Police said the facts would become clear only after the questioning is completed and all relevant documents are thoroughly verified.

The investigation is continuing from all possible angles, and authorities said any further action will depend entirely on the outcome of the ongoing inquiry and verification process.
