Jamshedpur, August 7: Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC), one of eastern India’s premier private medical institutions, has received a major boost for its expansion plans after the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Jharkhand, granted Environmental Clearance (EC) for its Baridih campus in Jamshedpur.
The approval, issued vide Letter No. EC/SEIAA/2026-27/5006/2026 dated July 11, 2026, marks a significant milestone in the institution’s growth roadmap, enabling it to undertake future infrastructure development in compliance with statutory environmental norms.
According to a public notice issued by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), the Environmental Clearance covers the Manipal Tata Medical College campus situated at Khata No. 24, Plot Nos. 3953(P), 3826, 3827 and 3828 at Mouza Baridih in East Singhbhum district.
The clearance was granted by the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Jharkhand, after evaluating the project under applicable environmental regulations.
Boost for Future Infrastructure Development
Environmental Clearance is a mandatory statutory requirement for large institutional and infrastructure projects. It certifies that the project complies with prescribed environmental safeguards and sustainable development norms laid down by the regulatory authority.
The latest approval is expected to facilitate future campus expansion, infrastructure augmentation and academic growth at MTMC while ensuring adherence to environmental protection measures and regulatory compliance.
Clearance Letter Available for Public Access
The public notice stated that a copy of the Environmental Clearance letter has been submitted to the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority, Jharkhand, and has also been made available for public viewing on the authority’s official website.
