Ranchi, August 27: A unique Raksha Bandhan celebration was organised at Curesta ACMS Super Speciality Hospital, where female students of Calcutta Public School, Ormanjhi, tied rakhis on the wrists of doctors and healthcare workers as a gesture of respect and gratitude.
The students said doctors and healthcare workers were among the true protectors of society, working tirelessly to safeguard people’s lives and health.
The Rakhi-tying ceremony created an atmosphere of warmth and mutual respect on the hospital premises. Doctors, medical staff and school teachers were present at the event, which highlighted the values of service, protection and brotherhood.
‘Raksha Bandhan is a pledge to care for one another’
Hospital Director Dr Sanjay Kumar said the festival was ultimately about the commitment to protect and care for one another.
“The true meaning of Raksha Bandhan is the pledge to protect and care for one another. We are delighted that the students connected with the doctors through this sentiment. This initiative fosters respect, service and human values within society,” he said.
Doctors call gesture a symbol of trust
Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr Anuj Kumar told the students that Raksha Bandhan was a festival of trust and responsibility. He said the students’ gesture of affection was a matter of honour for doctors and healthcare workers.
Senior Physician Dr Major Ramesh Das said the event reflected the bond of trust and respect between society and the healthcare sector.
“Today’s event reflects the bond of trust and respect between society and the healthcare sector. The children’s positive mindset and sensitivity serve as an inspiration to us all,” he said.
The event concluded with an exchange of Raksha Bandhan greetings and a collective resolve to uphold the spirit of service.
