Jamshedpur, September 7: Two students of Sona Devi University, Ghatshila, have qualified the UGC-NET examination, making them eligible for Assistant Professor positions and PhD admission.
Aditya Kumar of the Department of Political Science scored 200 out of 300 marks, securing a 97.5 percentile, while Aman Sharan of the Department of History scored 186 marks with an impressive 99.7 percentile.
The students achieved the feat under the guidance of their respective heads of department, Shivchandra Jha and Kanchan Sinha.
Congratulating the achievers, Jha stressed the importance of developing a thorough understanding of undergraduate and postgraduate syllabi as well as the core concepts covered across UGC-NET units.

He advised students to focus on subject fundamentals rather than shortcuts, saying consistent preparation, discipline and a well-planned strategy were key to success. He also encouraged the achievers to pursue original research and contribute to the creation of new knowledge.
Sinha attributed the achievement to the students’ hard work, discipline and sustained academic efforts. She encouraged other students to believe in their abilities and pursue higher education and research with dedication.
University Registrar Nit Nayana said the results reflected the combined efforts of the students, guidance from faculty members and the institution’s positive academic environment.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Braj Mohan Pat Pingua described the students’ success as the university’s “real achievement” and assured continued institutional support for higher education, research, innovation and competitive examinations.

Chancellor Prabhakar Singh also congratulated the two students, saying their success demonstrated that goals could be achieved through hard work, determination, discipline and proper guidance.
He said the university seeks to move beyond degree-oriented education by focusing on knowledge, research, innovation, skills and social responsibility.
The achievement has brought a sense of pride among the faculty, students and staff of Sona Devi University, with the university community extending its best wishes to both students for their future academic and research pursuits.
