Ranchi, September 17: The Jharkhand unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday with a series of programmes across the state, including blood donation camps and the lighting of ‘Aashirwad Ke Diya’ (Lamps of Blessing).
The BJP said the celebrations were organised across Jharkhand to commemorate the Prime Minister’s birthday, with party workers and members of the public participating in events at temples, monasteries, homes, offices and business establishments.
Thousands of households across the state lit ‘Aashirwad Ke Diya’, with participants offering prayers for Modi’s health and longevity. BJP workers and members of the public also took part in Deepotsav programmes held at several locations.

21,000 Lamps Lit at Albert Ekka Chowk
At Albert Ekka Chowk in Ranchi, 21,000 lamps were lit as part of the celebrations. Internationally acclaimed sand artists from Puri also created a sand portrait of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the venue. The initiative was organised by State Executive Committee member Ramesh Singh.
Deepotsav events were also organised at Jail More, Ratu Flyover and Lighthouse Jagannathpur in Ranchi; Durga Temple in Kuju; RPI Global School in Koderma; Ram Mandir Chitahi Dham and Das Basti Pandar Pala in Dhanbad; the banks of the Koel River in Palamu; Namami Gange Ghat and Jayanti Gram Dalit settlement in Sahibganj; the AIIMS campus in Deoghar; Jatrahi Bagh Durga Temple in Chatra; and the Shakti Peeth premises in Rajrappa, Ramgarh district.
The BJP state office was also decorated for the occasion.

Aditya Sahu Lights Lamps at Durga Temple
BJP State President Aditya Sahu lit lamps at the Durga Temple in Kuchu Mandal, Ranchi West district, as well as at his residence.

Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi participated in a lamp-lighting programme at Albert Ekka Chowk along with State Organization General Secretary Karmveer Singh and also lit lamps at his residence.
National Secretary Pradeep Kumar Verma attended a lamp-lighting programme at the Sarla Birla institution.
Speaking on the occasion, Aditya Sahu said the celebrations were a matter of pride for BJP workers and that several programmes had been organised across Jharkhand to make the Prime Minister’s birthday memorable.
Expressing gratitude to the people of Jharkhand and BJP workers for the response to the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme, Sahu said the initiative had turned into a celebration of public participation.
He said, “The public came forward to offer their blessings to Narendra Modi. The people of Jharkhand, alongside BJP workers, participated with great enthusiasm, making the event truly memorable.”
Sahu said the blood donation camp at the BJP state office began at 11 am, while ‘Aashirwad Ke Diya’ were lit across the state at 7 pm by party workers, beneficiaries of central government schemes and members of the public.
Blood Donation Camps Held Across Jharkhand
Blood donation camps were organised by the BJP Yuva Morcha across Jharkhand, including at the state party office.
At the camp organised at the state office in collaboration with Orchid Blood Centre, hundreds of young party workers donated blood. State Vice President Bhanu Pratap Shahi and General Secretary Amar Kumar Bauri were among those who participated, with 50 units of blood collected at the camp.
The camps at the BJP state office and Sarla Birla University, Mahilong, were formally inaugurated under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ organised to mark Narendra Modi’s birthday.
BJP Leaders Extend Birthday Wishes
Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi, while wishing Narendra Modi a long life, said India was progressing towards development, self-reliance and empowerment under the Prime Minister’s leadership. He also expressed his wishes for Modi’s long and healthy life.
State Organization General Secretary Karmveer Singh said BJP workers observed the Prime Minister’s birthday as part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’.
He said, “This is a moment of pride for all Bharatiya Janata Party workers. It is the birthday of the country’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. We observed this day as the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’. Lakhs of people in Jharkhand lit ‘Aashirwad Ke Diya’ in their homes to offer their blessings to Narendra Modi.”
Among those who extended birthday greetings were former Chief Ministers Raghubar Das, Arjun Munda, Champai Soren and Madhu Koda; Union Ministers Annapurna Devi and Sanjay Seth; former State Presidents Deepak Prakash, Ravindra Kumar Rai, Dinesh-anand Goswami and Yadunath Pandey; and a large number of BJP MPs, MLAs, office-bearers and workers.
