Dhanbad, Jan 6: IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad, in association with the University Grants Commission (UGC), will hold a teacher training programme for the professors, associate professors, assistant professors and part-time teachers of all faculties.

The institution (IIT ISM) has launched the project under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTP), and it will kick start on January 17 and continue till March 31.

The training course will be conducted on different themes, including higher education, holistic and multidisciplinary discipline, academic leadership, governance & management, student diversity & inclusion, Information and communication technology, research & development and the Indian knowledge system.

Dr Mrinalini Pandey, associate professor of the Department of Management Studies and Industrial Engineering of IIT ISM, who is the coordinator of the Malviya Mission Teachers Training Centre, said that a short duration (8-day) New Education Policy (NEP) orientation and sensitisation training of eight days would be conducted for each course free of cost.

“These courses will be considered for fulfilment of requirement as laid down in the Career Advancement Scheme of UGC,” she said.

Dr Pandey further added that the institute’s professors will conduct training. “We have already conducted two training phases earlier, and the present is the third phase,” she said.
