THE JHARKHAND STORY DESK

New Delhi, Jan 9: The rank of acting director of the Enforcement Directorate, Rahul Navin, along with 10 other bureaucrats, has been upgraded to the position of Additional Secretary by the Central government.

Navin, a senior IRS officer from the 1993 batch, currently serving as the Special Director in the Enforcement Directorate, took over the position from Sanjay Kumar Mishra. Mishra stepped down in September last year, meeting the deadline set by the Supreme Court for the conclusion of his tenure.

Currently serving as the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) acting director, Navin will continue in this role until a regular director is appointed or until further directives from the government are received.

The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC), presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, decided on Monday to sanction the in-situ upgrading of these individuals to the rank of Additional Secretary to the government, temporarily elevating their current positions.
