Ranchi, January 9: The retired employees of Jharkhand Rajya Gramin Bank today staged a dharna at Kutchery Road Zila Parishad premises based head office of Jharkhand Rajya Gramin Bank in support of their long pending  9-point demand.

As per their pre-announced programme, today, hundreds of retired employees from across the state reached there in procession under the banner of the Jharkhand Rajya Gramin Bank Retiree’s Association and sat on a dharna at 10 am.

Their dharna continued till 2 pm. A delegation of the Association handed over a memorandum to the chairman in support of their long-pending demands.

The Association’s general secretary, Ram Pukar, said that the Central Committee on December 3, 2023, in Dumka, reviewed the indifferent approach of the management towards the long-pending demands of retired employees and decided to intensify the agitation.

Bhubaneswar meeting  

The earlier matter was also discussed at the two-day General Council Meeting in Bhubaneswar on November 24-25, where various agitational programmes were chalked out.

Association’s general secretary, Ram Pukar, said that the primary demand of retired employees is a refund per month, illegal deduction amount of Rs7500 from the pension of retirees with interest, Payment of interest on PF amount for amalgamation period in 2019, implementation of group health insurance with working staff, proper implementation of computer increment for all retirees irrespective of retirement date.

Regularisation of daily waged workers

The general secretary said the Association has also demanded immediate revision of promotion rules, immediate recruitment of 30,000 vacant posts, regularisation of daily waged/part-time/ casual workers, and immediate amendment in service rules/ leave rules.

On occasion, PN Singh, JK Choubey, SK Jorihar, J Ojha, Abresh Prasad, RK Singh, Dipak Baruar, Jaya Prakash Narayan, Ved Prakash and Binod Kumar also addressed the dharna meeting.
