Jamshedpur, Jan 16: In a compassionate and considerate initiative, all Rotary Clubs of Jamshedpur and Chaibasa Zone 18, under the guidance of assistant governor Anjani Nidhi, launched the impactful campaign, ‘Every Feet Must Have a Slipper’.

A need-based survey was meticulously carried out in places such as railway stations, areas inhabited by homeless footpath dwellers, and the vicinity around temples. The survey identified individuals without proper footwear, highlighting the necessity for a basic yet essential item for daily life.

On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West extended its helping hand to the small population of Chimti Village in Bodam.

A total of 150 pairs of slippers were distributed to each household, accompanied by a thoughtful assortment of bananas, cupcakes, bhujia, and laddus.

This initiative reflects the Rotary Club’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the underprivileged by addressing not only the essential need for footwear but also providing additional items to bring smiles to their faces.

In an exemplary display of solidarity, more than 1000 pairs of slippers were distributed across the town by all Rotary Clubs on this occasion.

The collaborative effort ensured that the underprivileged in various parts of Jamshedpur received the much-needed footwear, contributing to their well-being.

The event witnessed the presence of esteemed individuals, including Past District Governor Pratim Banerjee, Assistant Governor Anjani Nidhi (Zone 18), Rotary Club Jamshedpur West president Neeta Agarwal, secretary Ashok Kr Jha, and other notable personalities such as Sanjeev and Anupama Sehgal, J.B. Singh, Rishi, Dipti Singh and Binod Agarwal.
