Daltonganj, Jan 23: 60 children took birth in government hospitals in Palamu on the Ram Lalla Pran Prathishta on January 22 in Ayodhya.
Civil Surgeon Dr Anil Kumar said, “MMCH Daltonganj had 17 deliveries on the Pran Prathishta Day. Two of the 17 deliveries were of c-section.”
He said 43 deliveries happened in the 10 community health centres (CHCs) across Palamu.
The Civil Surgeon had a word of praise for the health personnel working in the community health centres for ensuring safe delivery on a day when the nation was engrossed in religious historicity.

Low patient turnout at MMCH and CHCs
However, the turnout of OPD patients was less than half at MMCH Daltonganj where on average it is 1000 plus OPD patients a day.
On Pran Prathishta Day, 476 OPD patients turned up at the MMCH Daltonganj, said Dr Anil Kumar.
There was a similar decline in the turnout of patients at the community health centres as it was 225 patients in the 10 community health centres here on this day.
The number of patients admitted in various wards in the MMCH Daltonganj was 52 while it was 35 in the community health centres on this day.
Civil surgeon Dr Anil Kumar said, “On Pran Prathishta Day I pushed off to the community health centre at Satbarwa 27 km away from Daltonganj. I saw it working well.”
On being asked had patients not turned up at the health and wellness centre now known as Ayushman Arogya Mandir, the civil surgeon said “They must have come here too. I am trying to have the figure of it too. There are too many of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs here in Palamu.”
