Dhanbad, January 25: On the occasion of ‘National Voters’ Day’, judges, lawyers and judiciary staff of Dhanbad district court took oaths to promote and encourage democracy.
The court organised a function to mark National Voters’ Day in which Principal District and Session Judge Ram Sharma administered oaths to participants to strengthen and increase democratic values.
While presiding over the function, the Principal District and Session Judge said that the Election Commission of India (ECI) was constituted on January 25, 1950. Since then, we have celebrated this day as ‘National Voters’ Day’.

“So, keeping the value of this day in mind ensures participation in a healthy democracy and saves democratic traditions as well as dignity by voting,” said Sharma.
Principal judge of Kutumb Nayalay T Hussan, Family Court additional judge SN Mishra, Labour Court judge Premlata Tripathi, Special judges Rajnikant Pathak, Sujit Kumar Singh, Prabhakar Singh, Raj Kumar Mishra, Akhilesh Kumar, Neeraj Kumar Viswakarma, Sanjay Kumar, and Kuldip Mann were present.
Besides them, chief judicial magistrate Arti Mala, additional chief judicial magistrate Rajiv Tripathi, civil judge Sweta Kumari, Shivam Chourasia, Safdar Ali Nayar, Vishal Maji, Pratima Oraon, Poonam Kumari and others also attended the function.
Senior lawyers and the Dhanbad Bar Association office bearers, including president Amrendra Kumar Sahay, vice-president Dhaneswar Mahto general secretary Jitendra Kumar and others, were also present.
