Varanasi, Feb 2: Puja and prayers will continue at the Vyas basement of the Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi as the Allahabad High Court has not granted a stay on the worship, in response to the petition filed by the Muslim side.
The Mosque Committee had requested interim restraint on worship in their petition, but the court did not accept it. In this regard, the High Court has directed the Advocate General to maintain the law and order.
Next hearing on 6 Feb
The next hearing date in this case has been set for 6th February. The court has ordered the Mosque Committee to make amendments to their appeal by 6th February.

SC asked Muslim side to approach HC
Earlier on Thursday, the Supreme Court had rejected the immediate hearing of the petition related to stopping worship at Vyas Takhshashila. Additionally, the Supreme Court had suggested the Muslim side to approach the High Court.
Notably on Jan 31st, Wednesday, the district court of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh ruled in favour of the Hindu side, granting the right to worship in the underground chamber of the Gyanvapi mosque.
In this sequence, the court ordered the district administration to make arrangements for barricading within 7 days. The underground chamber is beneath the Gyanvapi mosque.
