Dhanbad/Deoghar, February 3: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, leading the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, reached Dhanbad in the evening en route to Bokaro – Ranchi at around 6.30 pm.

Senior leaders of the coal belt, including state vice-president Brajendra Prasad Singh, district president Santosh Kumar Singh, and hundreds of party workers, had gathered at the Karmdaha bridge at the Jamtara – Dhanbad border to welcome him. Still, Rahul Gandhi’s caravan did not stop and directly went to Halkata High School ground East Tundi block, where he stayed at night.

The Congress state vice-president said that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra would kick start at 8 am tomorrow. After crossing Govindpur, Big Bazar Saraidhela, IIT ISM gate, Randhir Verma Chowk, and Shramik Chowk near the railway station, he will reach Bank More, where he will address a public rally.

Shops of love

Earlier, addressing a meeting in Deoghar, he asked people to open the shops of love in the market of hate.

He claimed that after the successful completion of the Yatra from Kerala to Kashmir, some people asked him to start it for States like Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and the Northeast.

The caste-based survey is an X-ray: Rahul

He blamed the central government for the prevailing unemployment in the country. He defined how implementing GST, Demonetisation and closing the regular recruitment drive in the Army created unemployment.

Rahul Gandhi dubbed the issue of unemployment as a new disease. Describing the social injustice, he said that social justice cannot be realised unless a caste-based census is done across the country.

The caste-based census is like an X-ray of the country, he claimed.

He assured the people of accessible medical facilities if the Congress came into power at the Centre.

Rahul was accompanied by Jairam Ramesh, Rajesh Thakur, Pradeep Yadav, Vijay Hansda, Mani Shankar, Uday Shankar, Dinesh Mandal and others.
